Robert Capa was a Hungarian - American war photographer and considered one of the greatest adventure photojournalists of our time. He is known for risking his life several times to take photographs of the D-Day Landings and Europe during WW2. He traveled the world photographing momentous events like the Spanish Civil War,Chinese resistance to Imperial Japan, WW2, The Founding of Israel and The First Indochina war, where sadly he was killed when he stepped on a landmine on the edge of a road, whilst following a French advance under fire.He died doing what he loved which was to be in the thick of the fighting capturing events as they happen.

Alfred Eisenstaedt was born in Germany in 1898. He was fascinated by photography and began taking pictures at age 14 using an Eastman Kodak folding camera. He went on to be hired by the Associated Press and captured the first ever meeting between Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. And he captured the infamous ‘Eyes of Hate’ photograph where he caught the moment Goebbles realised he was Jewish.

Masahisa Fukase was a Japanese photographer who created a photo book called The Solitude Of Ravens which portrays an obsessiveness and stark interpretation of gloom. His personality seeps into his work and shows how a photograph can have a deeper meaning than it depicts.
Georg Gerster was a Swiss aerial photographer, who used pioneering techniques to capture the alienation inherent in aerial photography. He documented vast areas in over 100 countries and photographed landscapes from above including mountain ranges, deserts, rivers, coasts and archeological sites. His photographs were used by Swissair and he won the Prix Nadar in 1976. His exhibitions highlights the beauty of the landscape but also addresses the endangerment to nature caused by human impact.
