My Camera & Equipment

I'm using a Canon EOS 250D, which is a new entry level DSLR, and they are perfect for beginners. It comes with a kit lens and a variety of accessories can be attached to it. The lens is an 18 - 55mm so I will not have any telephoto capabilities and must take this into consideration when using it. It may not be a high-end camera like some of the more professional ones but for my casual use and occasional projects it will be more than enough.

Specs:

18 - 55mm lens

24.1 megapixel CMOS

Dual Pixel CMOS AF

Wifi & Bluetooth

Optical Viewfinder

4K Movies

3" LCD  Flip & Rotating Touchscreen

Lightweight only 449 grams

This camera will be suitable for me during this module as I can explore the functionality and controls and learn how they operate whilst learning the theory at the same time. The ability to shoot 4K video is something that I am keen to use and will explore this for future projects.

I also have an old tripod which I will use to steady the camera allowing me to use slower shutter speeds.

Part of this creative process was learning all the features of this camera and identifying all its parts and controls. It has a familiar and intuitive UI that is easy to use. The use of Bluetooth is handy but I still remove the memory card and transfer it to my PC.

I save my images as high quality JPEGs at 6000x4000 pixels, which is large enough for quality viewing but has more reasonable file sizes. At this stage I am not using any Skylight or Neutral Density Filters.
